Test of Ornamental Kale and Application Evaluation
In order to screen the ornamental kale for utilization in Pearl River Delta,17 varieties from Japan were introduced for test.The results show that:1,In the dwarf kale varieties,red and pink are easy to turn color;Among the cut flower varieties,some red and pink varieties have successfully achieved color change,while other basically not.Therefore,when selecting the varieties adapted to the Pearl River Delta,it is appropriate to focus on introducing red and pink varieties and planting them in the open field for identification.2,Three varieties are easy and obvious to change color,with beautiful plant shapes,and have an ornamental period of about four months,namely the dwarf Nagoya Red Improvement,the cut flower kale Luxilu Rose Red,and the pink crane.They can be used for potted plants,flower beds,and cut flowers.Two feather leaf varieties(white and red Yokohama),although their color conversion is not ideal,their leaf and plant shapes are beautiful and can be combined with other varieties for garden landscaping.
