The Adjusting Culture and the Adjusting Society:A Study of the Relationships between So-cial Strata in the Ancient Chinese Society
In order to realize an ideal social order,the Confucianism wanted to find a rational point to reconcile the emotion and the social order.This idea was internally connected with the dominant adjusting culture which takes account of the emotional needs of different social strata in certain degree.Based on this judg-ment of the cultural type,we can say that the ancient Chinese society was an adjusting society.But when this centralized state alleviated the inner tension with the adjusting mechanism in certain degree,it also had fallen into the trap of limitations,at last been a conservative and mediocre political state.
