We discuss the existence and uniqueness of Cartesian splitting,Jordan splitting,and core-nilpo-tent splitting of matrices,extend the main characterizations of Jordan block matrix to general matrix,and obtain the properties of general matrices.Our results enrich and deepen the existing results and lay a foun-dation for using matrix theory to solve practical problems.
