黄侃在北京大学讲授《文心雕龙》考论

20世纪初,黄侃在北大讲授《文心雕龙》,名声既大,谜团亦多,诸如上课时间、讲授课程、讲解篇目等问题,学界至今众说纷纭,莫衷一是.根据对现有文献材料的分析研究和相关当事人的回忆评述,我们认为黄侃在北大执教的五年时间里,以其讲授《文心雕龙》为线索,以蔡元培和陈独秀领导实施文科课程体系改革为界限,可分为前后两期.前期(1914-1916)主要在"词章学"课堂上,以《文心雕龙》为诠释文本,主讲《神思》以下创作论部分,再选择数篇文体论篇目作为案例,并编撰二十余篇《文心雕龙札记》作为授课讲义;后期(1917-1919)主要在"中国文学概论"课堂上,继续以《文心雕龙》为教本,主讲"文之枢纽"的总论部分,同样撰写了相关篇目的《札记》作为授课讲义.此外,还曾接替被学生赶下台的教师讲授《文心雕龙》.黄侃第一次把《文心雕龙》作为一门学科教学的内容搬上了大学讲堂,标志着现代"龙学"的诞生,具有重要的学术史意义.
Abstract
Wen Xin Diao Long was a lecture topic Huang Kan elaborated on sometime in the early 20th century at Peking University.Despite leaving behind a legacy of eminent reputation,the lecture is still filled with no shortage of doubts.Problems such as class time,teaching course and lecture content have hitherto been controversial.Based on the analysis and research of existing literature,coupled with the recollections and comments of relevant parties,this study took Huang's Wen Xin Diao Long teachings as the cue and constrained the scope within the institutional reform of the liberal arts curriculum led by Cai Yuanpei and Chen Duxiu,before coming up with a justifiable division for Huang's five-year Peking University tenure into the early(1914-1916)and late(1917-1919)stages.In the early stage,Huang mainly used Wen Xin Diao Long as the explanatory discourse for his"Rhetoric"class,lectured part of the creative writing theory,starting from"Spiritual Thinking",before selecting several literary-style theory chapters as case studies,and compiling over 20 pieces The Annotations on Wen Xin Diao Long to use as lecture notes.In the late stage,he continued using Wen Xin Diao Long as the textbook in his"Introduction to Chinese Literature"class,focusing on the general introduction of"Literary Hub",while also compiling the"Annotations"of relevant chapters to use as lecture notes.In addition,he once took over the teaching of Wen Xin Diao Long from a teacher who was driven off by the students.This made Huang the first to incorporate Wen Xin Diao Long as a subject into a university classroom,which marked the birth of modern Wen Xin Diao Long Studies,hence the undeniable academic significance.
