刘勰是"文学革命家"吗?——论"五四"新文学革命对"后五四"时代期刊上龙学文章的影响

受"五四"新文学革命影响,在1919-1949年的报纸期刊上,发表了一批《文心雕龙》理论研究的文章,纷纷将刘勰视为批判南朝讹滥文风的"文学革命家",并总结其文学革新的观念为:自然(艺术表达上不加雕饰的自然抒写)、真实(表达真实的情感)、创造(不剽窃因袭),这其实是对标胡适的"八大纲领"和陈独秀的"三大主义"而得出的,揭示了刘勰文学观与"新文学革命"倡导的现代文学观念间的相通之处,彰显了《文心雕龙》在新的理论环境下的价值,颇具卓识.但是,他们的观点也有偏颇之处,如刘勰并不忽视外在艺术形式的雕饰之美,而是文质并重的.另外,"自然、真实、创造"这样的归纳也脱离了刘勰本身的话语体系,容易造成误解.最根本的,刘勰拥护六朝骈体文学,并非"文学革命家".反思这些理论研究的得与失,告诫我们只有在立足《文心雕龙》本身理论的基础上,再结合时代思潮来发掘其新的理论价值,才是龙学深化发展的长久之路.
Abstract
Influenced by the May 4th New Literature Revolution,the newspapers and periodicals at that time published a number of articles on the theoretical study of Wen Xin Diao Long,which regarded Liu Xie as a"literary revolutionist"who criticized the corrupt literary style of the Southern Dynasty,and summarized his viewpoints of literary innovation as follows:Nature(natural expression without decoration),authenticity(expression with real emotions),creation(no plagiarism).Based on Hu Shi's"eight major programs"and Chen Duxiu's"Three principles",the above conceptions reveal the similarities between Liu Xie's literary view and the modern literary concept advocated by the"New Literary Revolution";as judicious literary viewpoints,they always manifest the value of Wen Xin Diao Long in the new theoretical environment.However,there are also some biases in these conceptions.In fact,Liu Xie did not neglect the beauty of external art forms,but attached equal importance to ornate diction and natural expression in literature.In addition,the induction of"nature,authenticity and creation"also divorced from Liu Xie's own discourse system,which was easy to cause misunderstanding.Most fundamentally,Liu Xie was not a"literary revolutionist",but supported the parallelism literature of the Six Dynasties.The gains and losses of these theoretical studies admonish us to study on the basis of the theory of Wen Xin Diao Long itself,and combine the theoretical research with the zeitgeist to explore its new theoretical value.Only in this way,can the study of Wen Xin Diao Long achieve the long-term development.
