The implementation performance of preferential policies in ethnic minority regions is an important decision-making basis for the central government to promote leapfrog economic and social development and stability in border regions.Reviewing the historical development of ethnic education policies after the reform and opening up,the case studies on"group-style"education aid to Tibet and improvement of bilingual education quality in Xinjiang show that the implementation of educational policies in ethnic minority regions not only directly promoted the development and quality improvement of education,but also became an important way to promote ethnic integration and political consolidation.The implementation of ethnic education policies has solved the problem of segregation arising from different cultural backgrounds and promoted national identity.
