From Horticultural Therapy to Garden Healthcare:Taking Major Groups and Representative Studies in China as Examples
Horticultural therapy,a practice involving cultivation and interaction with plants,aims to enhance and restore individuals'physical and mental health.By searching for"Horticultural therapy","Green therapy"and"Garden healthcare",etc.as subject terms in Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure and Wanfang Database until February 2024,a total of 162 relevant papers were retrieved after screening.The history,theory and design application of horticultural therapy are currently research mainstream in China,while empirical researches were mainly conducted by medical research teams.Through keyword clustering analysis in VOSviewer software,it was found that Chinese horticultural therapy researches constantly focus on mental health,and the research subjects had expanded to potential sub-healthy populations;Cluster analysis of the cooperation network among authors revealed that the team of Prof.Li Shuhua from Tsinghua University was the most prominent research team in this field in China.Eight representative empirical research papers were selected to conduct a comparative analysis of their experimental methodologies,the results revealed that these researches provided insightful contributions to optimizing the horticultural therapy's operational process,serving as valuable references for future empirical and evidence-based research paradigms.Additionally,a review of the development of major Chinese groups and academic conferences in horticultural therapy also revealed that the Tsinghua University team has played a key role in expanding the meaning and depth of horticultural therapy.
