Research Progress and Enlightenment of Shrinking City Localization Based on the Beijing City Laboratory Academic Community
The theory of Shrinking City,originating in the West,has become one of the hot topics in the field of human settlement in recent years,and the development of localized research on Shrinking City based on national conditions has important theoretical value and practical significance.Using bibliometric tools and taking the Beijing City Laboratory,a representative academic community in this field,as an example,this study analyzes the development process,hot topics and future trends of localization research on Shrinking City.The results show that:1)Localization research on Shrinking City has generally shown an upward trend over the past decade,forming a co-occurrence pedigree of academic community cooperation characterized by"large concentration and small dispersion";2)Three major theme clusters,namely"motivation mechanism,quantitative measurement,and regional collaborative response",have been formed,along with seven corresponding clustering themes;3)There are differences in hot-spots between the two stages of 2013-2017 and 2018-2023,generally showing an evolution trend from individual to group,from superficial to mechanistic,and from empirical to theoretical.,and vacant governance,data-driven and multi-dimensional scales are expected to be future hot-spots in this field.Finally,from the perspective of promoting innovative development in landscape architecture,one of the three disciplines of human settlement,this study concludes that localization research on Shrinking City has enlightening value in advancing the theoretical development of landscape urbanism,innovating paradigms for creating digital places,and focusing on improving the quality of street spaces.
