As a private garden of Emperor Qianlong,the Garden in the Palace of Tranquil Longevity is the essence of ancient royal gardens in China,exhibiting a unique style of classical landscape architecture.Traditional surveying and mapping techniques have limitations regarding such classical gardens.This research has overcome the limitations of traditional measuring and mapping methods by using high-precision laser scanning and close-range photogrammetry techniques to accurately survey and digitally reconstruct the garden in the Palace of Tranquil Longevity.It has achieved a comprehensive recording and precise digital restoration of the spatial elements of the garden,providing support for its protection and restoration,as well as offering new ideas and methods for the digitization of similar classical gardens.
