Expressions of 14-3-3 protein isoforms and its significance in chanlogicarcinoma
Objective To investigate the expression of 14-3-3 proteins and its significance in cholangiocarcinoma. Methods Seven 14-3-3 protein isoforms (β, γ, ε, ξ, η, θ and σ) were examined in 20 cholangiocarcinoma tissues and 5 adjacent normal bile duct tissues with immunohistochemical EnVision method. Results The positive rates of protein 14-3-3 β, γ, ε, ξ, η, θ and σ isoforms in cholangiocarcinoma tissues were 85.00% (17/20) , 85.00% (17/20) , 55.00% (11/20) , 75.OO%, (15/20) , 50.00 % (10/20) , 80.00% (16/20) and 80.00%(16/20) respectively, and that in adjacent normal bile duct tissues were 0 (0/5), 20.00%(1/5), 0(0/5),40.00%(2/5), 0(0/5), 0(0/5) and 0(0/5) respectively. A significant difference was found between the two groups by β, γ, η, σ, ε,and θ. But no relationship was found between 14-3-3 proteins overexpression and differentiation grade, malignant degree and lymph node metastasis. Conclusion The expressions of 14-3-3 β, γ, η, σ, ε,and θ protein are higher than that in the adjacent normal bile duct tissues, which may involve in the pathogenesis of cholangiocarcmoma.
