As an interdisciplinary field focusing on the Imperial Palace and its historical and cultural content,encompassing value exploration and interpretation,cultural heritage protection,and cultural dissemination,the academic concept of Gugongology has been highly valued by the Palace Museum and has received a positive response from the academic community.Treating the Imperial Palace as a cultural whole for comprehensive study has garnered unprecedented attention.To solidify the research in Gugongology and ensure its academic grounding,the Palace Museum has established the Institute of Gugongology.The institute,stepping beyond the'red walls'of the Forbidden City,has built a platform for Gugongology by forming research teams,establishing research institutions in universities,enrolling master's and doctoral students in Gugongology,organizing academic seminars,planning and compiling the'A Series on the Perspectives of Gugongology.'These efforts have significantly expanded the influence of Gugongology,enhanced the level of research,and achieved remarkable results,with the disciplinary construction of Gugongology progressively being established and refined.
