A Review of the Funeral Gilt-Copper Coffin Ornaments of the Han and Six Dynasties'Tombs in Three-Gorge Region
This thesis reviews the funeral gilt-copper coffin ornaments of the tombs from the Han to the Six Dynasties in space-time distribution,type,source and use,which were excavated in the Three-Gorge region and used as the decorative accessories for wood coffins.The kind of gilt-copper ornaments came out under the influence of the Han culture of the central plains in the middle Western-Han Dynasty,which was developing along with the changing shapes and structures of tombs and the beliefs in immortality through the late Western-Han and the middle Eastern-Han Dynasties,reaching its highest by the late Eastern Han Dynasty as getting further mixed with the folk religion around three-gorge area,then fading in the Six Dynasties.
