A Review of the Qianlong-Period Court Tea-Set Shelves in Design and Process
ABSTRACT:This thesis revolves around three types of tea-set shelves of the Palace Museum for a review of their sources and process of production,the grouped models of tea-set shelves,and the context they make with the spatial occasion based on the Qing-court archives such as the Files of Workshops of Yangxindian Hall of Imperial Household Department(《内务府养心殿造办处各作成做活计清档》),The Item Lists of the Beiping Antiquities Gallery under the Ministry of Interior Affairs(《内政部北平古物陈列所留平物品清册》)and The Files of the Qing Court Displays(《清宫陈设档》),etc,coming to the point that the tea-set shelves made in Qianlong(乾隆)period fully embody the nature of the imperial court craftsmanship in elegance and delicacy,fit in well with the space to yield a perfect style of art.
