Effects of exogenous hormones on the germination and seedling growth of Ningxia wolfberry
Wolfberry seeds were soaked for 24 hours respectively in Gibberellic Acid(GA3) with the concentrations of 25~300 μg/ml, in naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and in 6 - Benzyl Aminopurine (6-BA) with the concentrations of 25~200 μg/ml. The germination and seedling growth of wolfberry were investigated. The results showed that different concentrations of GA3 and NAA promoted germination, but 6 - BA promoted germination only in the concentration of 25 μg/ml. The total effects were in the order of GA3 > NAA > 6 - BA. In particular, the seed germination treated with 300 μg/ml GA3 was the highest, and the germination rate was 92 .8% . After the seedlings had grown in the original culture medium for 46 days, they were treated with 300 μg/ml GA3, then all the length of shoot, number of leaves, length of leaves and content of soluble protein were higher than CK. Compared with CK, the data of seedlings treated with NAA of more than 100 μg/ml were higher on the growth of leaves and the content of soluble portion. The data of seedling treated with 6 - BA were lower than CK on all aspects and the seedlings can not'grow normally.
