Clarifying the livelihood transition paths of households having shaken off poverty and examining the income enhancement effects under different paths are the keys to consolidating the effectiveness of poverty eradication and achieving common prosperity.Based on a two-period panel data of 890 out-of-poverty households in a county located in Dabie Mountains,Anhui Province, for 2017 and 2021,the livelihood transition paths of poverty-shaken off households were identified using a state transfer matrix, and the income effects of livelihood transition of those households were assessed using an endogenous transition model. The results show that:1)Among the livelihood transformation choices for the households shaken off poverty the percentage of poverty-shaken off maintenance, agricultural specialization, and non-farm transformation of livelihoods is 10.90%,14.16%and 74.94%,respectively,and the trend of non-farm transformation in livelihood is obvious.2)Based on the counterfactual hypothesis, for those poverty-shaken off households with agricultural specialization,if they chose their livelihoods to transfer to non-farming,their net income per capita would increase by 1.6%,and their dependence on government's transfer income would decrease by 49.8%.On the contrary, the household net income per capita of the poverty-shaken off households with non-farming transition of livelihood would decrease and their dependence on government's transfer income increase if they chose agricultural specialization.3)The income growth rate marginally decreases for poverty shaken off households both with the livelihoods transformation of off-farm and agricultural specialization.4)There is heterogeneity in the income growth effect of livelihood transformation of households shaken off poverty, and human capital is the key to the sustainable income growth for households shaken off poverty. In the future,we should continue to promote the poverty shaken off households in mountainous areas to transfer their livelihood, and enhance the human capital of households shaken off poverty as an important initiative to strengthen their sustainable income generation capacity.
