Cultural memory construction and spatial identification in Yellow River Basin from the perspective of heritage representation
Cultural memory reflects the local emotions and cultural attachment of different groups to specific places.Based on the theory of cultural memory, space production and field, the research constructs the representation framework of the connotation interpretation of cultural memory in the Yellow River Basin through the interaction of material and spiritual elements in the human-environment systems, and constructs the'symbiosis'mechanism of cultural heritage and memory.Based on this, taking 1675 national key cultural relics protection units in the Yellow River Basin as the research objects,by analyzing their historical connotation, cultural attributes and value attribution, the Yellow River Basin is divided into'8 types of memory places,2 types of memory representations, and 6 types of memory spaces',followed by the construction of an identification sequence for cultural memory space where people and heritages are mainly memorized. At the same time,in accordance with cultural memory index, field energy model and exploratory spatial data analysis, cultural memory abilities and spatial field energy of the basin are measured from the perspective of heritage representation, and then the differentiated path of cultural heritage protection in the Yellow River Basin are explored from the global space. The result shows that:The cultural memory of the Yellow River Basin shows a sudden increase or decrease in time evolution.Culture of spiritual belief or functional representation is clearly memorized in the historical course, especially cultural memory in prehistoric period,Song-Yuan dynasties, and Ming and Qing dynasties. In terms of change pattern of spatial field energy, significant difference is found between high and low values of cultural memory. The high values gather in Taiyuan,Datong,Pingyao,Xi'an,Lantian,Luoyang and other cities in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. The spatial structures are characterized by significant and positive spatial autocorrelation,or in other words, distribution replies on space to a great extent.Similarly, spatial agglomeration is characterized by strong agglomeration dominated by functional representation, general agglomeration by spiritual belief and media narrative, and weak agglomeration by social sensing. The purpose of this study is to determine the direction of historical and cultural protection and inheritance in the Yellow River Basin by taking cultural memory as the path, and to provide a new perspective for high-quality development and comprehensive management of the Yellow River Basin.
