Historical change and spatial relation of cultural memory in Shanxi Province from the perspective of heritage
Time-based non-material information and space-based material carrier are the two basic dimensions of cultural memory. However, few studies have explored the spatial correlation and interaction relationship between non-material information and material carrier.Taking Shanxi Province as the study area,we explored the historical change and spatial relation of cultural memory in different periods from the perspective of heritage by using kernel density estimation, spatial correlation model and gravity center model. The results indicate that:1)From the perspective of heritage, the historical change of cultural memory in Shanxi Province is characterized by cultural accumulation, social diversification and human-land correlation. The ways of production and life, ethnic competition and integration, social and cultural structure and natural geographical environment are the main factors influencing the spatial distribution.2)There are close spatial correlation and interaction relations in cultural memory in Shanxi Province. The spatial distribution has significant positive correlation from the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the Song,Liao,Jin,and Yuan Dynasties, and the Ming and Qing Dynasties to modern times, and the spatial quality coupling relationship is generally close but the distribution is unbalanced.3)There are some spatial deviation in the memory center of all prefecture-level cities in Shanxi Province, and the deviation degree has large regional differences and period divergence. The multi-dimensional response of cultural memory in geographical space in the study area has certain enlightenment for the continuation of cultural memory and protection and collaborative utilization of heritage space in Shanxi Province.
