Rural homestead withdrawal:Welfare effect, differences measurement and influencing factors
On the basis of the empirical survey on farmer's homestead withdrawal situations in Pingluo county and Helan county,Ningxia,we tested the changes of farmers'welfare while their homestead was withdrawn, and welfare differences among them and before and after homestead withdrawal, and empirically analyzed the factors which cause the welfare changes of farmers through the quantile regression model.Research indicates that the farmers'overall welfare level has improved after withdrawal and the welfare level differences among farmers are gradually expanded.Age,education level, setting mode, ownership of urban house, voluntary withdrawal, understanding of policies and overall satisfaction with withdrawal positively and significantly influence the change of farmers'welfare.Further research found that the influence of education level on farmers'welfare changes shows an overall upward trend. The effect of the setting mode on the change of farmers'welfare is significant in the middle and high points, and the coefficient shows an upward trend. The marginal effect of the voluntary withdrawal on farmers'welfare changes is larger in the middle and low quantiles. The influence of farmer's understanding of policies on farmers'welfare changes is more powerful at the middle and high score points than that at the low score points. Therefore,it is not only necessary to further improve the welfare level of farmers by increasing the support for farmers'education and non-agricultural employment, adopting the appropriate resettlement methods and respecting farmers'withdrawal, but also to take differentiated measures on the basis of universal policies to narrow the welfare differences among farmers.
