Influence of green climate on the public's pro-environmental intention
To realize of carbon peak and carbon neutral targets not only requires the participation of governments, enterprises and non-governmental organizations, but also requires the public to actively practice pro-environmental behavior in their daily lives.A chain mediation model was constructed by integrating the theory of planned behavior and norm activation theory with the stimulus-organism-response theory as a framework.Based on a total of 836 valid public samples from Henan,Jiangsu, and Sichuan provinces, structural equation modeling was applied to empirically analyze the influence of green climate on public pro-environmental intention and its internal mechanism. The results showed that:1)Pro-environmental intention is influenced by green climate,in which controlled green climate has a significant positive effect on pro-environmental intention, while supported green climate has no significant effect.2)Supported green climate has a significant positive effect on both personal norms and behavioral attitudes, while controlled green climate only has a positive effect on personal norms.3)Personal norms and behavioral attitudes play a mediating role between green climate and pro-environmental intention.Personal norms play a chain mediating role by influencing behavioral attitudes. This study is of great significance in clarifying the relationship between green climate and pro-environmental intention, and provides a theoretical basis and behavioral suggestions for the government to formulate relevant policies.
