Impact of rural digital economy on farmers'income and its spatial heterogeneity
Based on data from 1795 counties in China in 2021 and 2020,as well as data from the China Comprehensive Social Survey(CGSS)in 2021,we use OLS model and mediation effect model to analyze the impact of rural digital economy on farmers'income and its mechanism, and use multi-scale Geographically Weighted Regression Model(MGWR)to test the spatial heterogeneity of the income increasing effect of rural digital economy.Research has found that:1)The rural digital economy and its four sub dimensions of rural digital production, rural digital supply chain, rural digital marketing, and rural digital finance can significantly promote the growth of farmers'income.2)The rural digital economy can enhance entrepreneurial activity and promote nonagricultural employment, thereby promoting farmers'income growth.3)The spatial differences in the income increase effect of rural digital economy are obvious, gradually increasing from east to west, which not only promotes farmers'income increase but also narrows the internal income gap among farmers.4)There is spatial heterogeneity in the income increase effects of rural digital production and rural digital supply chain, but the income increase effects of rural digital marketing and digital finance show a spatial difference of"higher in the east and lower in the west".Based on the research findings,we propose suggestions to further promote the development of rural digital economy, promote county level entrepreneurship and non-agricultural employment, and encourage differentiation in rural digital economy development.
