Spatial distribution characteristics and accessibility of public sports facilities in Beijing
Against the backdrop of equalization of basic public services,the scientific allocation of public sports facilities has become an important measure to coordinate and balance socioeconomic development among regions.It is of great significance in enriching residents'daily lives,satisfying their spiritual and cultural needs,and enhancing their sense of happiness and fulfillment.This study utilized POI data,statistical data,and other multi-source data to investigate the spatial distribution characteristics and accessibility of public sports facilities at different levels in Beijing's main urban area through GIS techniques such as the Average Nearest Neighbor In-dex,Kernel Density Analysis,and Cumulative Opportunity.The study reveals that:1)Public sports facilities at different levels in Beijing's main urban area all exhibit a clustered distribution,with urban-level facilities be-ing the most highly clustered,followed by regional-level facilities,block-level facilities,and community-level facilities.2)Public sports facilities at different levels in Beijing's main urban area demonstrate a layered structure from the core to the periphery.Urban-level facilities are characterized by a dual-core layered distribution feature,regional-level facilities show a multi-level core distribution feature,block-level facilities display a more prominent multi-core features,and community-level facilities form a wider core aggregation range.3)Different types of public sports facilities have significantly different accessibility requirements.While urban-level facilities generally have higher accessibility,regional-level facilities show a spatial feature of"higher in east and lower in west"in terms of accessibility.Block-level facilities present a spatial feature of"higher in the middle and lower on the outskirts",while the accessibility of community-level facilities shows a spatial feature of scattered distribution.This study provides decision-making suggestions for relevant departments in Beijing to clarify the demand-side gaps of public sports facilities at different levels,fill supply-side shortcomings,and optimize and adjust the spatial layout.
