Deviation between the willingness and behavior of farmers to adopt water saving irrigation technologies:A survey in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region
In response to the deviation between the willingness and behavior of farmers to adopt water-saving irrigation technologies, based on their economic rationality and collective behavior attributes,a theoretical framework for analyzing the deviation between the willingness and behavior of farmers to adopt water-saving technologies was constructed.By using survey data from 835 households in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the factors influencing the deviation between the willingness and behavior of farmers to adopt water-saving technologies were empirically tested. The research indicated that:1)There is a significant deviation between the willingness and behavior of farmers to adopt agricultural water-saving technologies in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.2)Economic factors such as monthly household income, proportion of agricultural income, agricultural water-saving investment, and satisfaction with water-saving investment significantly and negatively impact the deviation between the willingness and behavior of farmers to adopt water-saving technologies,as well as incentive policy environments such as participating in water-saving training and receiving water-saving publicity. The water-saving attitude of farmers significantly positively impact the deviation between their willingness and behavior to adopt water-saving technologies.3)There are significant regional differences in the deviation between the willingness and behavior of farmers to adopt water-saving technologies in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region phenomenon and the influencing factors.Based on the research results, suggestions are proposed to promote the transformation of farmers'willingness to adopt agricultural water-saving technology into the behavior, including improving the mechanism of agricultural water-saving investment, strengthening policy guidance, reducing the difficulty of operating water-saving irrigation techniques, and formulating differentiated agricultural water-saving technology promotion plans.
