Impact of non-agricultural skills training on income increase for immigrants relocated for poverty alleviation:Case of Gulang County,Gansu Province
In order to improve the income of migrants relocated for poverty alleviation and realize the overall goal of sustainable development of migrants'livelihoods,we empirically analyzed the effect of non-farm skill training on income increase of migrants relocated for poverty alleviation and their group differences by using the propensity score matching method with the surveyed data from 381 migrant household in Gulang County,an area implementing relocation for poverty alleviation.The results show that:1)Non-agricultural skills training significantly and positively impact the migrants'income increase,and compared with migrants who did not participate in non-agricultural skills training,migrants who participated in non-agricultural skills training increase their income by 20.7%.2)There are significant differences in age,educational level,and resettlement methods in the impact of non-agricultural skills training on immigrants'income growth.Accordingly,it is necessary to further increase the publicity of non-agricultural skills training,strengthen the relevance and differentiation of the training content,and continuously improve the income of immigrants.
