Effects of different selenium sources and spraying periods on selenium absorption and fruit quality of seabuckthorn
Seabuckthorn is a perennial deciduous shrub or small tree, its fruit is rich in a variety of nutrients, such as flavonoids, vitamins, trace elements and so on.Selenium plays an important role in the growth and development of animals and plants. In this experiment,20mg/L Na2SeO3 and Na2SeO4 were selected as selenium sources. The samples of seabuckthorn plant were sprayed by 12 treatments,to explore the effects of different spraying periods and selenium sources on the selenium content and fruit quality of seabuckthorn. It can provide a scientific theoretical basis for improving the quality and efficiency of seabuckthorn production, the development of selenium-enriched seabuckthorn, and the standardization and sustainable development of seabuckthorn industry. The results showed that:1)Using 20mg/L Na2SeO3 or Na2SeO4 as selenium source could improve fruit quality, but the effect of Na2SeO4 was better than that of Na2SeO3.Short-term continuous spraying outperformed a single application.Specifically, the most effective approach involved spraying from the germination stage through to maturity stage in seabuckthorn, enabling the product to meet the standard of selenium-enriched agricultural products.2)Under the treatment of Na2SeO3 and Na2SeO4,selenium content of fruit was positively correlated with protein, vitamin C,total acid, polysaccharide, soluble sugar, total flavonoids, peel fat, seed fat and pulp fat in different degrees.
