Impact of digital agricultural extension services on farmers'green grain production efficiency:An analysis from the dual perspective of aging and digital divide
In the process of coordinated development between the digital economy and sustainable strategies, digital agricultural extension services are the important channel to improve green grain production efficiency.Based on the survey data of 1107 households in Hubei Province, and by using the DEA-SBM model, the farmers'green grain production efficiency was calculated.Furthermore, with the assistance of the Tobit model, the heterogeneous impact and mechanism of digital agricultural extension services on farmers'green grain production efficiency was explored from the dual perspective of aging and digital divide. The research results indicated that:1)Digital agricultural extension services and their adoption frequency significantly improved the farmers'green grain production efficiency.2)Digital agricultural extension services promoted the adoption of agricultural green production technologies by farmers, thereby improved farmers'green grain production efficiency.3)The degree of aging negatively impacted farmers'green grain production efficiency, and the degree of aging would inhibit the promotion effect of digital agricultural extension services on green grain production efficiency.4)The expansion of the digital divide would hinder the improvement of green grain production efficiency, and the digital divide would inhibit the promoting effect of digital agricultural extension services on farmers'green grain production efficiency.5)Compared with traditional agricultural extension services, digital agricultural extension services were better adopted by farmers. Therefore,it is necessary to further promote digital agricultural technology, disperse the pressure of aging, increase the investment to rural education construction and agricultural technology training, enhance farmers'information application capabilities, improve rural internet infrastructure construction, and promote high-quality development of green grain production.
