Species diversity and floristic elements of the Verrucariaceae in China
To further discuss the species composition and floristic characteristics of the Verrucariaceae in China,we studied the species diversity, distribution, habitat and floristic elements of the Verrucariaceae from Northwest China,North China and Southwest China according to field investigations and published literature.Among them,1 genus and 7 species were identified as new records at the provincial level. The results show that:There are 140 species, belonging to 20 genera.Verrucaria is the dominant genus, accounting for about 37.14%of total species.Lichens in Verrucariaceae were mostly distributed in Northwest and Southwest China,South China and Taiwan.4 habitat types are categorized:rocks, trees, soils and multi-habitats,with rocks accounting for the highest proportion(78.20%).The floristic composition of lichen is diverse, with 7 floristic elements identified, including Cosmopolitan element,Circumpolar element,East Asian element,Mediterranean-West Asian-Central Asian element,Temperate element and Chinese endemic element. In china, the dominant genus in the Verrucariaceae is Verrucaria, and the geographical composition is complex. The Chinese endemic element is the most prominent, with obvious Circumpolar element characteristics. The highest similarity in the species of the Verrucariaceae between the Northwest China and North China is observed, and it forms a distinct group in Northwest China according to the cluster analysis of floristic composition. This study provides a crucial theoretical foundation for research on the Verrucariaceae.
