The influence of translational congruency, which refers to the consistency of word collocation between L1 and L2,has been verified in various language acquisition studies. However, when both L1 and L2 belong to the same cultural circle of Chinese characters, differences arise in character correspondence, even when the translations are identical. This paper investigates the influence of character correspondence on the processing of Chinese trisyllabic collocation by Korean native speakers, under conditions of identical translation, using lexical decision tasks. The results indicate that character correspondence significantly affects the processing of Chinese trisyllabic collocations.Specifically, the response time of collocation with corresponding characters are compared to those with non-corresponding characters. This study supports the non-selective word access of bilinguals.
