Event-Related Potentials(ERP)technology, with its millisecond-scale resolution of cognitive events, has been instrumental in elucidating the cognitive processes underlying language processing in the brain. The application of ERP in language research reflects an interdisciplinary approach, offering precise observation of the neural mechanisms involved in second language processing. It also establishes connections between language, brain, and cognition, and enhances the validity of experimental data.Over the past two decades,ERP has been primarily focused on the processing of syntax, semantics, and phonetics in Indo-European languages as second languages, with preliminary development in the study of Chinese as a second language.Based on existing research, this paper explores the potential and feasibility of applying ERP technology to the study of International Chinese Language Education. It discusses the experimental designs related to syntactic, semantic, and phonetic processing and their implications for teaching and learning Chinese, aiming to generate research increments through interdisciplinary integration and knowledge convergence. This is expected to facilitate breakthroughs in humanities research in the digital age and contribute to the improvement and efficiency of International Chinese Language Education.
