Exploring the Relationship between L2 Grit and Learning Engagement of International Preparatory Students in China:The Mediating Role of Foreign Language Enjoyment and Anxiety
This study is based on a survey questionnaire of 393 international preparatory students in China.On the basis of investigating the internal structure of L2 grit,this paper explores the relationship between L2 grit and learning engagement.It also analyzes the mediating effects of foreign language enjoyment(FLE)and foreign language anxiety(FLA).The results show that:Perseverance of effort(CE)directly predicts learning engagement,and indirectly influences it through the partial mediation of FLE;consistency of interest(CI)does not directly predict learning engagement,but indirectly predicts it through the complete mediation of FLE and FLA.
