This article focuses on three important language education standards ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines,Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:Learning,Teaching,Assessment,and Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education.It elaborates on their revision and respective characteristics,analyzes their advantages,and reveals the shared features that have gradually formed during their development.These include a focus on communication,an emphasis on communicative tasks and functions,grading,and the refinement of grading descriptions.It also explores the significance of the complementarity and mutual reference among these standards,including providing learners with high-quality language education experiences,helping teachers formulate teaching strategies,and promoting cross-cultural understanding.It further proposes that to make full use of this complementarity and mutual reference,it is necessary to strengthen the research on standards and promote docking and cooperation.Meanwhile,governments of various countries should strengthen policy guidance and support to promote the integrated development of global language education standards and cultivate outstanding language talents.
