The New Edition of ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines and Its Integration with the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education
This paper provides an in-depth interpretation of the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines 2024,released in April 2024,exploring its innovations and implications for Chinese language teaching.It further discusses how the new Guidelines can be effectively integrated with the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education,published by the Ministry of Education of China in 2021,to guide Chinese language education.The paper aims to inspire and provide guidance in areas such as the development of Chinese curriculum standards in the U.S.,the compilation and revision of Chinese pedagogical materials,the design of placement and graduation exams,and teacher training for Chinese language educators.
