The Impact of the Opening-up of Producer Services on the Green Development of Manufacturing Industry:Mechanism Test and Moderating Effect of Environmental Regulation
The green development of manufacturing industry is a necessary path for the high-quality development of China's economy.From the perspective of the opening-up of producer services,this paper theoretically analyzes the internal mechanism through which the opening-up of producer services affects the green development of manufacturing industry and the moderating effect of environmental regulation between the two,and conducts empirical tests by using two-way fixed effects and instrumental variable method based on the provincial panel data from 2005 to 2021.The research shows that the opening-up of producer services can significantly promote the green development of manufacturing industry and this promotion effect is stronger in the areas with higher level of opening-up of services as well as the coastal areas.The mechanism test reveals that the optimization of factor structure,the saving of production cost and the innovation of green technology are the important channels through which the opening-up of producer services gives impetus to the green development of manufacturing industry.The moderating effect indicates that environmental regulation plays a positive moderating role in the impact of the opening-up of producer services on the green development of manufacturing industry,and this moderating effect is stronger in the coastal areas.The research of this paper has positive significance for accelerating high-standard opening-up and promoting the green development of manufacturing industry.
