Enhancing Investment Cooperation Among the BRICS Countries:Internal Investment Situation,Constraints and Mechanism Institutionalization
As the impressive economic performance of the BRICS countries,strengthening the cooperation among the BRICS countries has far-reaching impact on the world economic and political landscape.The BRICS countries have made significant progress in international investment,but their internal mutual investment is not satisfactory.The slow progress in institutionalizing investment cooperation is an important factor restricting the mutual investment,and establishing the BRICS investment cooperation mechanism serves the interests of all countries.The BRICS investment cooperation mechanism should be based on the G20 Guiding Principles for Global Investment Policymaking,establish the principles of non-protectionism and non-discrimination in relation to the investment,incorporate inclusive investment facilitation into the cooperation framework,innovate the investment dispute settlement mechanism,follow the sustainable development principle,clarify the social responsibilities of the investors and determine the government's right to regulate the investment.
