How Does the Development of Digital Economy Affect the Urban Export Technological Sophistication:Theoretical Model and Empirical Evidence
Based on the HK model and combined with the accounting framework of the AK model,this paper introduces digital technology,digital industrialization and industrial digitization in sequence,and theoretically deduces the impact and mechanism of the development of digital economy on the urban export technological sophistication.It is found that the development of digital economy can improve the urban export technological sophistication through four main mechanisms of increasing production efficiency,enhancing human capital,promoting industrial structure upgrading and optimizing resource allocation.The paper uses the empirical data of 282 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2021 to conduct an empirical test.The results confirm the correctness of the theoretical model and research hypothesis.The heterogeneity analysis results show that the development of digital economy has a promotion effect on export technological sophistication of the cities in the eastern and western regions,while it has a negative impact on the cities in the central region;the development of digital economy has a significant promotion effect on export technological sophistication of both resource-based and non-resource-based cities,and its effect on the former is stronger;compared with the cities in non-Yangtze River Economic Belt,the development of digital economy has a more promotion effect on export technological sophistication of the cities in Yangtze River Economic Belt.
