Benchmarking Higher Education Powers:International Comparative Analysis of Key Indicators of China's Higher Education System
By benchmarking against the world's top higher education powers,the development of China's higher education system can be analyzed in terms of development level and contribution capacity.In terms of development level,ten key indicators were selected for international comparative analysis from four dimensions,namely,scale of development,funding input,faculty and internationalization.In terms of contributing capacity,seven key indicators were selected for international comparative analysis from three dimensions,namely,access to educational opportunities,meeting the needs of social development,and promoting the development of scientific and technological innovation.The results show that since the reform and opening up,China's higher education development has achieved some achievements,but there are still many problems.Only by objectively understanding the achievements and accurately analyzing the problems can we find the starting point and breakthrough point for building a strong education country in the future.
