Analysis of the Problems in Cultivating Excellent Engineers in China and Suggestions
In the context of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation,major countries in the world have vigorously promoted the reform of engineering education to meet the needs of training outstanding engineering talents in the new era.Since the Ministry of Education launched the Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program in 2010,many achievements have been made in the cultivation of outstanding engineers.However,there are still some problems in the evaluation system,educational philosophy,willingness of enterprises to participate,ability of engineering teachers,and student learning motivation.Developed countries such as the United States,Germany,and Singapore have accumulated rich experience in engineering education reform.In China,Chongqing University,Tianjin University education institutions such as XbotPark Robot Base and new innovative organizations have also actively explored new engineering education models.Based on the problems existing in engineering education in China and beneficial explorations of engineering education reform at home and abroad,three practical teaching mechanisms for collaborative training of outstanding engineers through industry and education are proposed,and countermeasures and suggestions for improving the quality of excellent engineer training are proposed from the three levels of government,universities,and enterprises.
