Analysis of the Coupling Relationship Between Educational Development and Regional Overall Development——Index Construction and Graphic Typology Analysis Based on Data from 31 Provinces in China
Previous studies have mostly relied on western economic and sociological theories to explore the relationship among education, economic and social development, and equity. However,to some extent, they have overlooked the intrinsic characteristics and dynamic attributes of education,as well as the structural impact of external institutional environments on China's specific practices.Based on the historical data of education development and regional overall development in 31 provinces in China(2010-2020),relevant indices were constructed, and the generalized positive correlation between the two was identified through path analysis such as temporal change analysis, spatial structure analysis, and graphic typological analysis.Specifically,it presented as a"parallel type"of synergistic coupling development between the two,a"funnel type"of relatively advanced regional overall development, and a"reverse funnel type"of relatively advanced education development, resulting in corresponding potential synergistic effects, bottom support effects, and drag effects between the two.Research suggests that each province should enhance the synergistic relationship between various elements of the education system and the social system through appropriate policy interventions,in order to better leverage the synergistic and resonance effects of the two.
