Application of Teach-back health education model in clinical nursing for patients with coronary heart disease after PCI
Objective To evaluate the effect of Teach-back health education model in clinical nursing for patients with coronary heart disease after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods This study was a randomized controlled trial.A total of 100 patients with coronary heart disease who underwent PCI in Houjie Hospital of Dongguan from June 2023 to March 2024 were selected as the observation objects, and were divided into a control group and a study group according to the principle of random sampling, with 50 cases in each group. In the control group, there were 31 males and 19 females, aged 32-71(53.68±9.98)years,and the course of disease was(2.58±1.13)years.In the study group, there were 32 males and 18 females, aged 33-71(56.86±10.21)years,and the course of disease was(2.69±0.97)years.The control group received routine health education, and the study group received Teach-back health education intervention. The intervention period was from the day of admission to 1 week after discharge.Self-care ability and discharge readiness score before and after intervention and inpatients'satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Statistical methods used were x2 test and t test. Results After intervention, the total score of self-care ability in the study group was higher than that in the control group[(138.84±5.50)points vs.(107.60±6.79)points],with a statistically significant difference(t=-25.28,P<0.05).The total score of readiness for discharge in the study group was higher than that in the control group[(103.54±6.94)points vs.(85.32±6.60)points],with a statistically significant difference(t=-13.45,P<0.05).The inpatients'satisfaction score of the study group was lower than that of the control group[(13.52±1.76)points vs.(30.28±3.87)points],with a statistically significant difference(t=27.86,P<0.05).Conclusion Teach-back health education model can enhance the effect of health education and the mastery of health education knowledge, also improve health beliefs and self-management ability in patients with coronary heart disease after PCI.
