Earthwork volume calculation based on UAV image matching point cloud
Aiming at the problems of terrain limitation,time-consuming,laborious,and high cost in traditional earthwork volume measurement, this paper proposes a method for calculating earthwork volume based on UAV image matching point cloud.Taking a mine in Yulin of Guangxi as an example,a single-lens multi-rotor UAV is used to obtain orthophoto and oblique images within the mine area, and the UAV image is processed and ana-lyzed with the help of Pix4Dmapper software to extract 3D point cloud data on the surface of the mine. The cloth simulation point cloud filtering algorithm is used to filter the acquired point cloud data, and then the non-ground points and ground points are separated. The resulted point cloud is analyzed with the EPS software and used to calculate the amount of earthwork within the current mining area. The calculated earthwork by this method differs from which is measured with GNSS-RTK by 1.9%.The results show that the earthwork calculation method based on UAV image matching point cloud is feasible and reliable, and it can be used as a new method for earthwork calculation.
