Discussion on the Determination and Measurement Methods of Horizontal Displacement and Convergence Measurement Accuracy in Highway Tunnel Construction
The monitoring and measurement of tunnel construction is a cross-disciplinary field between tunnel engineering and surveying engineering. In terms of accuracy requirements, both the specifications and standards of tunnel engineering and surveying engineering have relevant provisions. However, there are differences and emphases between different standards, which can cause some confusion for users when referencing. In order to clarify the accuracy requirements for the horizontal displacement monitoring of highway tunnel construction,a method of determining the accuracy is proposed by the analysis of relevant provisions in current national standards and industry standards,in combination with explanations of accuracy requirements in multiple current specifications. This method follows the idea of determining allowable deformation→determining measurement standards(mean error)→determining maximum allowable error(mean error limit deviation).Additionally,a method for evaluating accuracy is provided, which involves calculating the mean error of measured data→comparing the mean error with the mean error limit deviation→judging the credibility of the data. The rationality of these methods is demonstrated by the analysis of measured data. The results show that the proposed accuracy determination method, accuracy evaluation method, and instrument selection can meet the requirements for horizontal displacement monitoring or convergence monitoring in highway tunnel construction.
