Shear Stress Distribution for Asphalt Surface of Steep Longitudinal Slope Section in Mountainous Expressway
In this study, static analysis of elastic layered system based on BISAR 3.0 program was conducted to analyze the shear stress distribution for asphalt surface of steep longitudinal slope in mountainous expressway, considering two factors of the bonding conditions at the surface layer/base and the modulus ratio of the baselayer and the AC layer. The results show that:1)The steep longitudinal slope section has a large horizontal load coefficient, which leads to a great increase in the maximum extreme shear stress of asphalt surface, and a more concentrated distribution of high extreme shear stress. The horizontal load has a certain degree of influence on the distribution of extreme shear stress of the entire asphalt surface layer.2)There is little difference in the maximum value of extreme shear stress of steep longitudinal slope asphalt layer under different interlayer contact conditions, but there is a big difference in the distribution of extreme shear stress at higher value(>250 kPa).The higher value(>250 kPa)of extreme shear stress of steep longitudinal slope in the state of complete smoothness between base and surface layers is more widely distributed than that in the state of complete continuity between layers, and it runs through the asphalt surface layer, and the bottom of asphalt surface layer is more prone to shear failure.3)When the modulus of the asphalt surface layer is 10 000 MPa and the modulus range of the base layer is 6 000 MPa~14 000 MPa,as the modulus ratio of the base layer to the surface layer increases, the maximum shear stress of the asphalt surface layer in the steep longitudinal slope section decreases.According to the results of static analysis, the asphalt pavement in the steep longitudinal slope section has higher extreme shear stress compared to the flat slope section.Improving the interlayer adhesion between the base and surface layers and appropriately increasing the base modulus while ensuring the modulus of the asphalt surface layer are beneficial for the shear resistance of the asphalt pavement in the steep longitudinal slope section.
