Digital Economy,Technological Changes and the Convergence Effect of Labor Productivity
Utilizing the advantages of the digital economy to enhance labor productivity in the ter-tiary industry is the key to building a modern industrial system.Based on the perspective of technologi-cal change, this paper explores the impact and transmission mechanism of the digital economy on labor productivity convergence from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. The research results indicate that there is a significant absolute β convergence and conditional β convergence characteristic, that is over time, the regional differences in labor productivity gradually decrease and eventually converge to a sta-ble state. The digital economy can effectively promote the convergence of labor productivity, and has the fastest and strongest impact on the convergence of labor productivity in the tertiary sector of the economy. After a series of robustness tests, this conclusion is still valid. The intermediary mechanism test results indicate that the digital economy can promote labor productivity convergence by improving technological proximity and technological centrality. To this end, suggestions are proposed to break through the bottle-necks in the national economic cycle, improve the digitalization level of the three industries, adhere to the digital economy leading technological innovation, and continue to promote the widespread and deep inte-gration of the digital economy and the real economy.
