Digital Skills of Resident,Relative Poverty and Income Inequality
Actively building an endogenous mechanism for residents to lift themselves out of poverty and become prosperous is an important way to alleviate relative poverty,achieve"lowering"and"expanding"to promote common prosperity.This article takes the digital skills of residential households as the starting point,and uses the CFPS 2014-2020 four period data from Peking Univer-sity Household Tracking Survey to test the poverty reduction effect of digital skills of residents and their impact on income inequality in different dimensions.The results indicate that the improvement of digital skills among residents can suppress the occurrence of relative poverty in families,but over-all,the poverty reduction effect of low digital skill improvement on families is greater than that of high skill families.There are also differences in the relative poverty alleviation effects of different levels of digital skills between urban and rural areas,different family characteristics,and different ar-eas of digital economic development.The improvement of digital skills among residents can alleviate relative poverty by increasing the availability of information,increasing the enthusiasm for poverty alleviation,and increasing household employment and wages.Further research has found that digital skills among residents can alleviate relative poverty in households and suppress income inequality.The conclusion provides a reference for local governments to address relative poverty and income in-equality from the perspective of enhancing residents'digital skills.
