Research on the Impact of Product Differentiation and Market Openness on the Spatial Structure of City Cluster
City clusters are an important carrier in the process of improving regional economic growth and deepening the implementation of Strategy for Coordinated Regional Development. This paper attempts to combine the"new"new economic geography model and agent-based computation-al economics to study the impact of urban differentiation on the spatial evolution of enterprises and population under multiple heterogeneity, establish a two region spatial economic model with multi-ple heterogeneity of enterprise production efficiency and scale, residents'wages, etc.,and integrate agent-based modeling to dynamically simulate the migration of population and enterprises between cities to study the spatial economic evolution process. The results indicate that:(1)regardless of whether there is a market entry and exit mechanism, the greater the difference in industrial products within small cities, the more conducive it is for enterprises and populations to migrate to small cities, and enterprises and populations tend to be dispersed. However, the existence of market mechanism can improve the impact of product differentiation on population and enterprise migration in cities.(2)Small and medium-sized cities in city clusters need more firms and populations, and they need to continue to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship to produce differentiated products, making the products within the city more diverse and differentiated.(3)In order to make product differenti-ation play a greater role in the city, the whole region needs to improve the market mechanism for en-terprises to enter and exit,so that profitable capital can enter market and the loss making enterprises at the same time, can exit the market or transform, upgrade and reform.
