The Double-edged Sword Effect of Career Calling:A Research Review and Future Prospects
As the pursuit of the purpose and meaning of work,it is the expression of personal core values and self-worth,and its influence on individuals in the workplace is two-sided,showing the dual effect of"gain"and"loss",which has attracted much attention in theory and practice.This study systematically examines and clarifies the impact of core values on individuals in the work-place.The present study embeds career calling in the whole career process,identifies the specific manifestations of the"double-edged sword"effect of career calling and conducts theoretical analysis based on social cognitive career theory,self-regulation theory and conservation of resources theory.Researchers could explore the transfer mechanism of the cross-level drip effect of career calling ex-plore the dynamic trajectory of career calling,and analyze the non-linear effect.
