Deep Integration:Ubiquitous Transformation—Infinite Possibilities:2023 Report on the Digital Development of Global Higher Education(Ⅰ)
Digital technology has become the core driving force of scientific,technological and industrial transformation in today's society,and is accelerating the shaping of new lifestyles,economic models and social structures in human society.Promoting educational transformation and innovation is a common task faced by all countries.How to utilize the advantages of the new generation of digital technology to fully empower teaching and learning in higher education is an important breakthrough to open up a new track of education development and shape a new advantage in education development.Looking back on the history of the transformation of digital technology on education,it can be roughly divided into five stages:audio-visual teaching,computer-assisted teaching,network education,mobile Internet education,and intelligent education.Digital technology has brought the following impacts and changes to the learning environment,educational resources,teachers and students literacy,teaching methods,teaching evaluation and other aspects.First,it drives the learning environment transformation and promotes the transition of learning environment from"static"to"dynamic",and from digital,network to intelligent leap.Second,it optimizes the supply of learning resources,enriches the media forms of resources,promotes the extensive development of resources,improves the open sharing of resources,and realizes the automatic generation of resources.Third,it enhances the development of teachers'and students'literacy,and gradually integrates students'cultivation goal from single knowledge learning to information literacy,digital literacy and advanced thinking ability.Fourth,it helps the iteration of teaching methods,from focusing on the basic demonstration and transmission to the teaching with the utilization of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.And fifth,it empowers innovation in teaching evaluation and shifts the different subjects of teaching evaluation from the subject-object relationship of"evaluating and being evaluated"to the inter-subject relationship of"joint participation",redirecting the purpose of teaching evaluation from"screening and selecting"to"teaching students according to their aptitude".
