Ways to Enhance Teachers' Digital Literacy and Competence in the Age of Artificial Intelligence——Summary of the Parallel Session on Enhancement of Teachers' Digital Literacy and Competency at the 2024 World Digital Education Conference
The enhancement of teachers' digital literacy and competency is a new requirement for teachers in the age of artificial intelligence and has become a key component of professional development for teachers, rapidly integrating into global educational practice. In our country, improving teachers' digital literacy and competency has become an important path to deepen the digital transformation of education and promote high -quality educational development. At the parallel session on"Enhancement of Teachers' Digital Literacy and Competency"during the 2024 World Digital Education Conference, participants discussed topics such as the role of teachers' digital literacy in supporting the digital transformation of education, the reshaping of teacher roles and adherence, and practices in enhancing teachers' digital literacy and competency. The main viewpoints formed during the session include: the digitalization of education cannot be separated from the role of teachers. Teachers need to possess digital literacy, human-machine interaction, and human-machine collaboration abilities; artificial intelligence redefining learning, reshaping teaching models, and reevaluating traditional educational methods, inevitably imposing new requirements on teachers' digital literacy; teachers should enhance their own literacy from the dimensions of information awareness, computational thinking, digital learning and innovation, and social responsibility in the information society; teachers must not forget their primary duties, should practice the fundamental task of moral education and innovation, adhere to the original aspiration of moral education, remember the mission of educating for the party and the country, and nurture generations of new era individuals with great aspirations, virtues, talents, and responsibilities.
