Frontier Trends in Artificial Intelligence Technology Enabling Digital Transformation in Education——Introduction to the 2023 Annual Report on Artificial Intelligence Promoting the Development of Education
Artificial intelligence, as an important driving force of the new round of technological revolution, is continuously penetrating various scenes of education and promoting the digital transformation of education. The digital transformation of education empowered by intelligent technology has not only changed the traditional mode of education, but also provided brand new possibilities for improving the quality and efficiency of education. However, how to scientifically and effectively measure the effect of the application of AI in education in China, as well as clarifying the status quo of the development of AI education in China has become a major concern of the current education sector. In order to systematically sort out the dynamic level of AI for education development, and comprehensively highlight the pattern of AI for education development and education tools, the research team drafted the 2023 Annual Report on Artificial Intelligence Promoting the Development of Education. The report responds to the dimensions of AI for education development from two perspectives:"Smart Education Development"and"Smart Education Software". Among them, the"Development of Intelligent Education"starts from three aspects: external guarantee, endogenous cycle, and quality output, proposing six dimensions for the development of intelligent education in primary and secondary schools. It is committed to building a systematic and comprehensive evaluation system for the promotion of education development by artificial intelligence, covering important indicators for the promotion of education development by artificial intelligence in China; Starting from the four major educational scenarios of learning, teaching, management, and evaluation, the Intelligent Education Software Chapter proposes an overall framework for the application of intelligent education software for primary and secondary school students, aiming to build a scientifically based intelligent education software evaluation system. The evaluation results include both the functional evaluation results of the software tool itself and horizontal comparisons with similar product functions and application scenarios. Meanwhile, it delineates the admission principles and evaluation mechanisms for the practical application of intelligent education software tools, and defines the application scenarios, functional positioning, usage principles, and mechanism of intelligent education software tools.
