Experience and Inspiration of Cultivating Digital Literacy among Primary and Secondary School Students in Singapore
Digital literacy is at the heart of the global education digitalization strategy,and an integral part of shaping the digital knowledge structures and capabilities of primary and secondary school students.As a global education leader,Singapore has been committed to promoting the process of fostering digital literacy among primary and secondary school students since the 1990s,updating the content of its education digitalization strategy to meet the demands of the era,and clarifying the digital literacy that teachers and students should possess at the basic education level.In terms of implementation strategy,Singapore promotes the sustainable development of digital literacy for primary and secondary school students through the following four main ways:deeply integrating digital literacy into the learning process of students,creating a high-end digital teaching environment,investing funds to support the construction of digital infrastructure,and attaching importance to cultivating the digital competence of teachers.Based on the above experience,the following four points of inspiration can be put forward for Chinese education reform:first,optimizing the pioneering digital literacy education framework to strengthen the top-level design;second,integrating digital literacy into the school education system to enrich the teaching methods;third,accelerating the construction of new digital infrastructure to provide hardware support;and fourth,training teachers'digital teaching capacity to enhance their digital literacy level.
