Factors Influencing College Students'Online Learning Engagement and Strategies for Improving it under the 3P Learning Analytics Framework—A Qualitative Study Based on NVivo12
With online learning transitioning from individual participation to full-time engagement, addressing learners'negative emotions, enhancing their participation, and laying the foundation for lifelong learning have become an urgent issue. The study collected data through in-depth interviews and utilized grounded theory's qualitative research method to perform three-level coding on the interview materials, extracting key concepts and categories, and thus constructing a theoretical model of influencing factors. The research revealed that learners'participation in online learning is influenced by individual learning characteristics, teacher competence, course attributes, online learning environment, and teaching experiences.Building upon this,a model of influencing factors mechanism was developed based on the 3P learning analysis framework, which consists of"Learning Preparedness—Learning Process—Learning Outcomes".The study indicates that future development of online learning in higher education should pay full attention to learners'learning backgrounds, prioritize the improvement of learners'information literacy, and create conditions for effective learning. In addition, teachers should further refine online learning activity design, optimize online learning evaluation methods, proactively innovate the technological tools used in teaching processes, and create conditions for collecting comprehensive learning data from students throughout the learning process, providing precise and personalized learning feedback to enhance the quality of talent cultivation.
